World Political National Geographic 1100 x 780mm (Africa Centred) Wall Map

The World Map by the National Geographic Society is a current political map that shows our world in traditional blue colours. The maps' astounding detail and quality make this map an excellent reference tool for home, office or classroom. The map uses the Winkel tripel projection to reduce distortion of land masses as they near the poles.

Unlike other political maps, a heavy-coloured die line shows the country's borders and the interior of the country is shown in white, making it easier to read the place names and information. Mountain ranges are shown in great detail through the use of shaded relief, and the map also focuses on showing ocean depths and currents in greater detail than on any other World map. This map's sheer amount of information is impressive; smaller maps in the bottom corners show population density, vegetation, and land use.

The map can come either printed on heavyweight 160 gsm paper or laminated. The paper version is perfect for framing under glass, and the laminated version is exceptionally hard-wearing as we use a proper encapsulation of two pieces of 80-micron gloss laminate.

Alternatively, we can supply this map on 395 gsm HP Professional Matte Canvas using pigment-based inks - making the map highly durable and fade-resistant. The exceptional clarity of printing makes this map a stunning addition to any room, and its high quality means that it will provide years of enjoyment.

The easiest way to hang this map is by having wooden battens attached top and bottom with a hanging cord running along the top batten. This way, you only need to hang it from a hook. You can select this option from the dropdown above, which says Finish.
