The right flag depends on where it'll fly, how often it's used, and the level of formality required.

• Knitted polyester — the everyday workhorse. Lightweight, UV-resistant, quick-drying, colourfast. Best for schools, businesses, RSLs and outdoor poles in regular use.
• Woven polyester — heavier weight, denser weave, longer service life. Best for high-wind locations and exposed coastal sites.
• Fully sewn — individually stitched panels (not printed). The traditional ceremonial standard. Best for parade flags, government offices, formal indoor display and gifts.
• Handwavers and bunting — for events, classrooms, sports days, citizenship ceremonies and Australia Day functions.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between knitted and woven flags?

Knitted polyester is lighter, dries faster after rain, and is the standard for everyday outdoor use. Woven polyester is heavier and denser — better in high-wind or exposed coastal locations where a longer service life matters more than weight. Both are UV-resistant and colourfast.

Do you stock fully sewn flags for ceremonial use?

Yes. Fully sewn flags have each colour panel individually stitched rather than printed — the traditional ceremonial standard for parade, government and formal indoor display. We carry fully sewn Australian National, Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Red Ensign flags in all official sizes.

What size flag should I buy?

For a standard residential or school pole, 1800 × 900mm is the most common size. Smaller commercial poles and indoor display flags suit 1370 × 685mm or 900 × 450mm. Desk and tabletop flags are 500 × 250mm. Bunting and handwavers are sold in fixed sizes — see individual listings.

Are these flags Australian-made?

Yes. The majority of our range is produced by Carroll & Richardson, Australia's longest-established flag manufacturer, to official Commonwealth specifications. International flags and some bunting items are imported.

Do you ship flags Australia-wide?

Yes. Most flags ship folded as standard parcel; ceremonial sets and large pole flags ship via courier. Free shipping on orders over $75; $7 standard postage Australia-wide. Most metro deliveries arrive in 2–5 business days.
