The National Geographic's Beginners Education map of the World uses the Winkel-Triple projection, which provides the best combination of size, shape, and distance giving the student the best visual representation of the Earth's surface in two dimensions. This solves the effect seen on other maps where Greenland appears larger than South America. This National Geographic map shows both political and physical representations.
The high-quality laminate in which the map is encapsulated allows you to draw on or to apply map dots to locations of interest without permanently marking the map.
The lamination also makes the map very durable protecting against tears and stains as well as acting as a UV filter.
A good tip is that you can draw on the map in permanent marker to achieve a nice solid line and then if you want to remove the line later on you can go over it with a whiteboard marker and the map will be as good as new.
For hanging, we recommend either double-sided velcro, 3M hanging strips or Blu-Tack.
