Frequently asked questions

Which publisher should I choose for an international map?

For self-drive in Europe, Michelin is the standard — their folded maps have been the touring reference for over a century. For Asia and the Pacific, Hema is strong. For destinations off the beaten path (Patagonia, Central Asia, sub-Saharan Africa), ITMB is the specialist. For trekking, Reise Know-How's waterproof maps are the gold standard.

Are these maps in English?

Most are in English, though some — particularly bilingual Borch and Marco Polo editions — combine English with the local language. Place names and major features always use international Latin transliteration; minor labels may use local script. Check individual product pages for language details.

Are these the latest editions?

Yes. Mapworld stocks current-edition maps direct from the publishers. Major Michelin road maps update annually; ITMB and Reise Know-How update every 2–3 years; major travel guides typically every 1–2 years. Edition year is shown on each product page.

Do you have folded maps for individual cities?

Yes — most major destinations have folded city maps available, typically in laminated format for durability. Stock varies by city; the country sub-collections include city maps within each region.

How quickly do you ship?
